Unto Thee Departed

Unto Thee Departed

If our thoughts and actions shall never converge again
and our eyes witness not another Daylights birth begin,
under shining blue skies or thunderous pummeling rains;
then rest ye well my Friend.

If our paths no longer cross with our backs to the winds
and our words cease conversing until TODAY'S darkened end,
beyond all good and bad times we did compassingly transcend;
then rest ye well my Friend.

If our Hopes arrive failed upon fruition unable to stand
and our plans become spoiled gushing breach beyond hourglass sand,
throughout tightfisted debates or gentle conversations open hands;
then rest ye well my Friend.

If our youthfulness never matures to a wise elder age
and our past grows too painful to recall at Holidays,
whether sheltered from harm or homeless countless Days;
then rest ye well my Friend.

If our tears of joy decrease from the increase of our pains
and our surpluses we yielded now show more losses than in gain,
realizing we're changing even though we feel the same;
then rest ye well my Friend.

If our questions that we ask return answered full of lies
and our Universe we suffer in quietly swallows our pleading cries,
feeling fortunes good health or ominous disasters disguised;
then rest ye well my Friend.

If our Laws and Government no longer hide Corporate puppet strings
and our Liberty and Justice evolves buried meaningless debris,
watching our Privacy and Rights auctioned by corrupt elected thieves;
then rest ye well my Friend.

If our handshakes and our hugs are no longer to be remembered
and the Angels have been told our lives shall materialize surrendered,
watching the fruits of our labors receding untouchably sequestered;
then rest ye well my Friend.

If our dreams fail to exist for we suddenly are no more
and our Sun no longer rises to set golden upon horizon's shores,
be still;
for our Spirit kept alive our Souls memory Eternally Forevermore.

Then rest ye well my Friend, then rest ye well.
