Scratching The Surface

Scratching The Surface

Ancient carvings are born entombed unto stone,
what eyes quickly seen hands slowly made known.
Cryptic decipher unriddled the reader abounds,
understanding history absence of sound.

Speech takes flight where silence once ruled,
converging actions and words revealing the fools.
Enlightenment came in the darkest of hours,
revealing to all the powers devoured.

What one finds superior another shuns to the grave,
what the crowd chants "useless" the lonely one "saves."
What the World leaves dirty the Universe bathes,
what craves in the heart the mind keeps enslaved.
