One Lump or None

One Lump or None

You don’t need to use drugs
to appreciate their medicinal values.
Some people would rather not take a drug
due to their own personal values.

Freedom of choice is for everyone to decide
for one remains sober while another remains high.
If addictions of any kind are bringing your life to ruin
please consider treating them with a simple goodbye.

There is no cause for judgment here
everyone gets to make a freedom choice of their own.
Just because someone doesn’t smoke your bowl with you
gives you no right to silence their choice, voice or tone.

Leaving an addiction can at times be thrilling or scary
and reasons for doing so can be difficult, fun or hairy.
Be mindful your actions go along with your words spoken
for if they aren’t you’ll always be lonely, busted and broken.

For those who change their mind to quit and decide
that being sober isn’t something they no longer want to hide,
being drug free isn’t the end of all there is waiting for you
I will give the following comfort as a form of Psalm unto you:

“Sobriety isn’t a dead-end road; it’s a brand new super highway.
Be helpful to those who look for this helpful loving byway.
Sobriety isn’t the end of fun; it’s hard to see when you're plastered.
Embrace sobriety with LOVE; it’s the beginning of your new laughter.”
